Introduction to Interpreting

The Interpreting workshop includes:

  • Laws
  • Modes of Interpretation
  • Role playing
  • The Role of the Interpreter
  • Ethical guidelines, and
  • Apply information to specific situations in various school districts and schools.

Intermediate Interpreting

This workshop focuses on Special Education settings.

 

Workshop participants must have scored “advanced” on proficiency tests in both English and Spanish and must have achieved a score of at least 80 percent on the Introduction to Interpretation final assessment.

Health Care

60-hour Health Care Interpreter Training

Approved Training Program by the Oregon Health Authority – Office of Equity and Inclusion.

 

This program, The Community Interpreter®: International Edition, is the first of its kind to offer complete training for health care interpreters. A trained and certified health care interpreter will have full competence in English and a second language and will understand the terminology, standards of practice and cultural competencies necessary to provide accurate and complete interpretation. Course delivered in English.

 

The Health Care Interpreting Seminar addresses interpreting for a broad range of services, including, but not limited to:
